KPV is a tripeptide (Lys-Pro-Val) derived from alpha-MSH with potent anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. 99% purity, USA made. Synthesized in a cGMP facility with stringent quality controls.
KPV is a tripeptide (Lys-Pro-Val, MW ~342 Da) derived from the C-terminal sequence of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (alpha-MSH). Despite its minimal size, KPV retains the anti-inflammatory signaling properties of the parent hormone while demonstrating enhanced stability and resistance to enzymatic degradation.
Research has investigated KPV's anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties across multiple preclinical models. Studies in cell culture and animal models have examined its ability to inhibit NF-kB nuclear translocation, reduce pro-inflammatory cytokine expression (IL-1beta, IL-6, TNF-alpha), and modulate inflammatory signaling cascades. Investigators have also documented direct antimicrobial activity against bacterial species in vitro. Research in murine models of intestinal inflammation has examined KPV's effects on epithelial barrier integrity, mucosal immune responses, and inflammatory cell infiltration. Studies have investigated both systemic and localized delivery approaches.
The mechanism of action involves melanocortin receptor-independent anti-inflammatory signaling through direct inhibition of IKK-beta phosphorylation, preventing IkB-alpha degradation and subsequent NF-kB nuclear translocation. This pathway is distinct from the melanocortin receptor signaling of the parent alpha-MSH molecule, contributing to KPV's unique pharmacological profile.
Viking Labs synthesizes research-grade KPV at a USA-based cGMP facility. HPLC analysis confirms 99%+ purity on every batch. Certificate of Analysis, batch serialization, and sterile fill included.
Storage: Store lyophilized at -20C. Reconstituted at 2-8C, use within 30 days. Tripeptides exhibit excellent stability.
