Epithalon (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) is a synthetic tetrapeptide derived from the pineal gland peptide epithalamin. Studied for telomerase activation. 99% purity. Synthesized in a cGMP facility with stringent quality controls.
Epitalon (also written Epithalon) is a synthetic tetrapeptide with the sequence Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly and a molecular weight of approximately 390 Da. It is derived from epithalamin, a polypeptide extract of the pineal gland first characterized by Professor Vladimir Khavinson at the St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology.
Research investigations have centered on Epitalon's relationship to telomerase activity. Studies in human somatic cell cultures have examined its effects on telomerase reverse transcriptase (hTERT) expression, the catalytic subunit responsible for telomere elongation. Preclinical research in rodent models and cell culture systems has investigated potential effects on telomere length maintenance, cell proliferation capacity, and replicative lifespan extension. Additional studies have explored its potential interactions with melatonin synthesis pathways, antioxidant enzyme expression, and circadian rhythm regulation in animal models.
The proposed mechanism involves transcriptional activation of hTERT through chromatin remodeling at the telomerase promoter region, potentially mediated by peptide-induced changes in histone acetylation status. Researchers have also investigated downstream effects on retinoblastoma protein phosphorylation and cyclin-dependent kinase activity in cellular aging models.
Viking Labs synthesizes research-grade Epitalon at a USA-based cGMP facility. Each batch undergoes independent HPLC analysis confirming 99%+ purity. Certificate of Analysis included, batch serialized, sterile filled.
Storage: Store lyophilized peptide at -20C. Reconstituted solution at 2-8C, use within 30 days. Tetrapeptides exhibit good reconstitution stability.
